Smoke Offering to prepare for retreat center construction

Building the Lama's house

The TIBETAN MEDITATION CENTER is pleased to announce the continuation of its development of retreat facilities for Buddhist practitioners, known as Phuntsok Dargye Ling, “Place for Expansion of Sublime Perfection.” Envisioned by TMC founder, Khenchen Rinpoche, Konchog Gyaltshen and endorsed by H.H. Dalai Lama, this retreat facility will enable practitioners to engage in week, month and traditional three-year retreats under the direction of an accomplished retreat master.

Thanks to your generosity, TMC has already completed and paid for the first two stages of this meritorious project. First, the Center has purchased 43 acres of park land near the main TMC location. Second, the Center constructed the home for our retreat master, Drupon Thinley Ningpo. The next stage is the construction of Milarepa House, designed to accommodate six retreatants and a permanent resident caretaker.

This construction will be accomplished in three phrases:

Phase 1- Preliminary designs, site plan and government fees: already completed at $8000

Phase 2- Final designs, permits, impact fees and site preparation: already completed

$5,000 of $33,000

Phase 3- Actual construction at $160/sq. ft.: $410,000-$450,000

Please join with us in this exciting project, which benefits retreatants and their supporters with equal merit.
