Weekly
Schedule
Sundays - 10:00am to12:00 noon - The Sunday morning discussion and meditation program has long been one of TMC's most popular offerings. Khenpo Tsultrim leads a discussion on different aspects of the Dharma, followed by the Chenrezig or Green Tara meditation practice. The first Sunday of each month is about Basic Buddhist Concepts, the second Sunday covers Mahayana Buddhism, and the third is an introduction to Buddhist Tantra. The last Sunday of each month is reserved for a Q & A session. 1pm - Lama Gyaltsen has resumed teaching Tibetan Mondays - 6:30pm - Jan Aiken will lead White Tara practice starting October 23. Please join us! Wednesday Evening - 6:30 - 9:00pm - Lama Gyaltsen leads a Green Tara meditation session. Green Tara embodies all the activities of all the buddhas. Her wisdom body is the Sangha; her wisdom speech is the Dharma; and her wisdom mind is the Buddha. Samsara is pervaded with suffering, but if we rely on Green Tara we can become free from all different types of suffering. In the relative state, Green Tara protects all the different types of sentient beings, particularly practitioners. In the ultimate state, we become enlightened by realizing Green Tara's nature, which is primordial wisdom. Therefore, we can take refuge in her, and rely on her. 7:00pm to 8:30pm: Uttaratantra Shastra study group meeting in Gaithersburg. Contact Ven. Trinlay Chodron for more information. Thursdays - 7:30pm to 9:00pm - Shamata or calm abiding meditation provides the foundation for all other meditation practices. During these sessions, Dr. Sam provides detailed instructions, as needed, but more importantly provides an opportunity for practice. |
